Loss of sales isn't going to stop a London restaurant

LONDON, ONT. -- It’s a Middle Eastern restaurant that started off inside a food truck in London's Lambeth neighbourhood six years ago.

“Here we are six years later with four restaurants and number five, six and seven waiting to open,” says Yasser Ali, chief of operations of Shelby’s Food Express.

Shelby’s, which has made a name for itself in the city, makes Middle Eastern fusion food that has become popular amongst foodies. read more

The Salvation Army Centre of Hope relocates over 25 of their clients after fire

The Center of Hope posted on their Facebook page asking the public for disposable take out containers to keep the 64 meals made daily warm during delivery. 

Shelby’s Food Express owner, Yazan El-Shalabi was one person to respond.

Local businesses pledge funds to aid Fort McMurray residents

Have a shawrama, help Fort McMurray fire victims. Starting Thursday a London Middle Eastern restaurant is donating five per cent of all profits to the Red Cross’s emergency Alberta Fires appeal. And the co-owners of Shelby’s Food Express, Yasser Ali and Yazan El-Shalabi, are urging other businesses to join the cause to help those displaced by raging forest fires that have forced the evacuation of the northern Alberta city that’s the capital of the country’s oilsands industry. ... read more
